When younger, he was ill of a sickness and was replaced by Ukyou in the family, which is why he developed a deep hate for Ukyou and wants to steal all of Ukyou's treasured. He was in contact with Chigaya (for a while) to have updates about Ukyou. He has also taken Iori, who was the previous "rabbit" and one of the things Ukyou treasured.
