Reishu is the one who created the Ninku unit to face the Empire in the war, a group of ninjas led by 12 captains who represent the animals of the Chinese zodiac.
In the anime, when the war was almost coming to an end, Reishu chose to disband the entire Ninku unit, as he discovered that their enemy was the archbishop Kouchin, and that if he and the Ninku continued to advance, the entire country could sink into even greater chaos.
After making the decision, Reishu left the command of everything in the care of his younger brother, Seishi, and went to face Kouchin alone, with the two engaging in a long-distance fight using the forces of Feng Shui. After the event, the Empire won the war, and Reishu disappeared.
