Ino was born a daughter of the mortal, King Cadmus of Thebes and his wife, Queen Harmonia, the Goddess of Harmony and Concord. In contrast to her beautiful appearance, Ino is shown to be a very selfish woman and very ambitious, seductive, greedy, cunning, manipulative and arrogant. She seduced and charmed herself into becoming the new wife of King Athamas and the Queen of Boeotia, persuading him to leave his first "beloved" wife.
