He is a fictionalized representation of Hideshi's brother, included in several of Hino's fictionalized autobiographical stories. In <i>Jigoku no Komoriuta</i>, he is involved with the yakuza and doesn't concern himself much with Hideshi. In <i>Jigokuhen</i>, he is Hideshi's younger brother and frequently protected him from their violent parents and the neighborhood punks when they were kids. He got in with delinquents and became an alcoholic, and ended up in a coma after being attacked and suffering brain trauma. As a child, he found Hideshi's drawings gross but impressive, and encouraged him to keep at it.
