Itsuro is the <i>kumicho</i> of Kansai's Kadokanegumi, and father to Sumire and Tsubaki. He is a very strict man with traditional morals, and constantly butts heads with his children. Itsuro believes that one should protect himself, to the point that he's willing to leave Tsubaki to his fate when he is kidnapped, and almost breaks ties with his children after they leave to attend school in Tokyo. In the end, after Tsukasa confronts him, he dons his full samurai armor to go rescue Tsubaki.
