Radu is a vampire who feeds on humans consensually. His real identity is <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radu_the_Handsome" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Radu the Fair</a>, Prince of Wallachia and younger brother of Vlad Țepeș. After coming across Mamoru and finding out about his circumstances, Radu agrees to give Mamoru his life force in exchange for Mamoru becoming his familiar. Although he sometimes thinks that Mamoru is naive, Radu never looks down on him for choosing to kiss and have sex only with the person he loves, and presents their having sex as something to do out of necessity. Fearing the inevitable heartbreak following a lover's death, Radu has avoided getting seriously involved with anyone for the last two centuries. After centuries of experiencing all kinds of art, Radu has taken such a liking to manga that he left Romania to settle in Japan. Like classic vampires, he can't go out in sunlight and is the target of demon hunters.
