Jubelian is the only child of the preeminent Duke Floyen. Her mother died when she was young, and she has always yearned for her father's love. In the original story, she clung to her lover Mikhail and was framed for poisoning Princess Beatrice, the protagonist of the novel. After her father throws her in the Room of Shadows, she commits suicide in fear of torture at the crown prince's hand. To avoid marriage with the crown prince, Jubelian proposes a dating contract with her father's student, Max. She has a fear of small animals like birds and mice.
