Souta is an exhausted, overworked salaryman who decides to see a play on a whim while coming home from work, and faints when he sees the actor transforming into a cat. After waking up at his house, the actor (who introduces himself as Kihachi) informs Souta that they must become mates or be hunted down by the <i>bakeneko</i> society.
