Makoto is one of the Administrators of Limbo, aiding the shinigami in fending off attacks from the "Big Mouths". After dying at 18 from the same illness that had taken his mother's life, Makoto is brought back as a soul bound to a clay statue (hence the nickname "Golem") and lives in Limbo with his father. Assigned as the new shinigami's assistant, he is the one who gives him the name of "Calen", and soon falls in love with him.
