Kazuma is interested in learning about farming and greatly respects Naru's grandfather as an authority on the subject. He first meets Seishuu at the inter-village sports festival, where they are set to compete against each other. Due to the similarity in last name, Miwa and Tama conclude that Kazuma is the same Higashino who was humbled by Seishuu's running skills in middle school, and call him "Dash", the nickname used by Seishuu's classmate. Later on, Seishuu nicknames him "Mush" for his mushroom-shaped haircut.
